RESEARCH

My research centers around the study of nonlinear systems. I attempt to create simple theoretical and computational models of complicated phenomena arising in nonlinear systems of interacting objects. I also perform empirical studies to constrain and motivate the models. In all cases I seek to develop or extend mathematical and computational methods so that we may better understand complex fundamental phenomena. Most of my work has addressed problems in quantum and  classical field theory, general relativity,  gauge interaction, geophysics, statistical physics, fluid dynamics, and biology.
